The Header Bar
The header bar runs along the top of the window on the web, in the desktop app and on a tablet. Its buttons act on the whole window, not on one document: they show and hide the side areas, start documents, change project and open the app's menu. On a phone the header is replaced by the bar at the bottom of the screen.
Left side
- Sidebar: shows or hides the sidebar on the left. The icon changes to while the sidebar is showing.
- New Document: opens the list of document types. Pick one to open it as a new tab.
Right side
From left to right:
- Project name: the name of the open project folder. It is hidden when no project is open.
- Share: shares the document you are working on. See Sharing, Collaboration & Pairing.
- Pair programming: starts or joins a pairing session.
- Circuit indicator: a coloured dot and a short label that show whether a Circuit is connected. Click it to see your Circuits and choose which one to use. See Circuit.
- Zoom: shows the size of the app's interface as a percentage. Click it to open the control, then use and , or click the percentage to go back to 100%. The control closes by itself after a few seconds. The keys are ⌘-, ⌘0 and ⌘=.
- Menu: your account, Documentation, Settings, Clear Cache, Report a Bug and Sign Out.
- Run Log: shows or hides the Run Log beside the document. This button appears only while a workflow is the active document.
- Agent Chat: shows or hides the chat area on the right. It is the last button in the header.
The Agent Chat button
Click to show or hide the chat area. Your chats keep running while the chat area is hidden, and they come back as you left them.
Press and hold for about half a second to give the chat area the whole width of the window. The documents fold away to a thin bar on the left edge. This is the same result as dragging the divider between the documents and the chat area all the way to the left, without the drag. It works with a mouse, a finger or a pencil.
Press and hold again to bring the documents back at the width they had before.
Two more things to know:
- If the chat area is hidden, pressing and holding shows it at full width.
- Clicking the thin bar on the left edge also brings the documents back, and so does opening a document.
When no document is open, the chat area already fills the window, so pressing and holding does nothing.
