🤝 Sharing, Live Collaboration & Pair Programming

Stop presenting your work through a blurry screen share. Sharing through Circuitry beats streaming your screen over a video-meeting: everyone sees the real document — full resolution, on their own screen, at their own zoom — and instead of just watching, they can point, draw over what you're discussing, and even edit alongside you.

Three ways to share

Sharing and live sessions start from the Share button in the header of any workflow, whiteboard or design. Pair programming lives behind the same button — and because it's studio-wide, the button offers it in every editor, code files and terminals included.

Pair programming — your whole studio, live

A pair session replaces the screen share entirely. Press Start pair session and invite someone by email; they join from their own Circuitry and follow you live:

• Your tabs appear on their end. Open a code file, switch to the spreadsheet, jump to the whiteboard — the matching tab opens and focuses on their side, automatically. Close it, and it closes for them too.
• They see what you see — your cursor, your selections, your changes as you make them. In a markdown or web file they even see the same layout you're using (source, preview, or split).
• Works in every editor — whiteboards, workflows, designs, notepads, spreadsheets, code, markdown and more.
• Everything is sharp. No compressed video, no squinting at someone's monitor — every participant gets the real document rendered natively on their own device.

Both hands on the work

Followers aren't locked into watching:

• Request edit access — a follower asks for control, you grant it (and can take it back at any time). With control granted, you can both edit whiteboards, workflows, designs and spreadsheets live — two people typing into the same sheet, moving nodes on the same canvas.
• Point and draw — every participant can circle and mark up what's being discussed. The marker draws bold strokes that fade away after a moment (perfect for "this bit, right here" while you talk); the highlight pen marks lines and regions that stay until cleared. None of it touches the actual document.
• Cursors and selections everywhere — named, coloured cursors on the canvas, text carets and selections in code files, highlighted cell ranges in spreadsheets. You always know where everyone is looking.

Code and text files are followed view-only — your local files stay yours; followers see a perfect live mirror of them without ever being able to change them.

Ending a pair session

Press End in the pair controls. Followers' mirrored tabs close, nothing is left behind on their machines, and your documents stay exactly as you left them.

Live collaboration on a single document

For working one document together — without following each other around the studio — open its Share dialog, switch to the Collaborate tab and press Go live. From that moment:

• A green people badge appears on the Share button with a count of who's connected, and a green dot marks the document's tab.
• Everyone in the session sees each other's named, coloured cursors moving in real time.
• If someone's cursor is outside your view (different zoom or screen size), a small coloured dot at the edge of your screen points to where they are.
• Changes sync live — move something, draw something, delete something, and everyone sees it within a blink.

Invite people right from the Collaborate tab: type an email and choose View or Edit. If they're online in Circuitry they get an instant pop-up invitation (with a ping); either way they receive an email with a join link.

View — perfect for clients

Viewers open your live session instantly on the web — no account, no install. They can't change your document, but they're far from passive:

• Pointer — their cursor is visible to everyone, so "this one, right here" works.
• Marker — draws bold strokes that fade away after a moment. Ideal for circling things while you talk; nothing is left behind.
• Pen — draws annotations that stay visible to everyone until cleared. Notes, arrows, "change this" scribbles — none of it touches your actual document, and it all vanishes when the session ends.

This is built for the classic situation: you're on a phone or video call with a client, you send them the link, and within seconds you're both looking at the same canvas — them circling what they want changed, you editing it live as they watch.

Edit — perfect for teammates

Edit invitations are for real co-editing. Your teammate signs in with the invited email and the document opens as a normal tab in their own Circuitry — full toolset, not a stripped-down viewer. You both get an annotation strip on the right edge of the editor, so you can keep sketching ideas over the document while you build.

• Both of you can add, move, edit and delete — changes merge live in both directions.
• Selections stay personal: what you select is never disturbed by their edits.
• Undo is personal too — your undo only reverts your actions. Whoever deleted something is the one who can undo it back.
• Your copy is the one that's saved. Collaborators' edits flow into your document; nothing is written anywhere else.

Sharing a link

Open a document and click the Share button in the header.

• Email a person — sends them a private view link.
• Get a link — creates a link anyone can open; post it in team chat, docs, anywhere.

Every link shows the latest saved version of your document, opens instantly on the web, and can be revoked by you at any time.

Anyone with a link can view the document — double-check it doesn't contain secrets before sharing.

Reinviting the same people

The Share dialog keeps a simple person list — one row per person, however many times you've shared with them. Two buttons: reshare (sends them a fresh link — and on the Collaborate tab, a fresh live invitation) and remove (all their links stop working). A small View/Edit chip on each row shows how they'll join next time; click it to switch.

Ending a live session

Press End on the Collaborate tab. Everyone's live view stops, annotations are cleared, and your document stays exactly as you left it. Share links continue to show the last saved version until you revoke them.

Use cases

Design review with a client — Share your design, jump on a call, go live. The client joins from the email link in seconds (no sign-up), points and circles with the fading marker while you make the changes live. The meeting ends with the work already done.

Pairing on a project — Start a pair session with a teammate. Walk them through the workflow, hop into the code, open the results spreadsheet — every tab you open appears on their side. They request edit access, take the spreadsheet while you adjust the workflow, and you watch each other's changes land in real time.

Async feedback — Not everything needs a meeting. Send a view link in the evening; your collaborator opens it whenever, and replies with their notes. When you're both around, upgrade the same person to a live session with one click on the reshare button.

Walkthrough for a stakeholder — Go live (or start a pair session) and guide them through the work with your cursor while they watch from their own device — at their own zoom level, in full resolution, with none of the smearing of a streamed screen.

Limits

• Up to 6 people in a live session.
• Email invitations are limited per day (it counts people, not sends — reinviting the same person is always fine).
• Live co-editing on a single shared document covers workflows, whiteboards and designs. In a pair session you're followed through every editor — spreadsheets co-edit live too, while code and text files mirror view-only.
