Make something run by itself on a schedule

Build the steps as a workflow, set its Start node to Schedule (or Webhook, to run when another service sends a request), and deploy it. Deployed to circuitry.dev, it keeps going when the app is closed and your devices are off.

Build it and run it by hand

Any deviceFree

  1. Open a Workflow document and add the steps, with a Start node at the beginning.
  2. Press Run to try it. While the Start node is set to Manual, it runs only when you press Run.
  3. With the Start node set to Schedule, Run on schedule now runs it once as the schedule would, so you can test it before deploying.

Run it on a schedule

Any devicePaid plan

  1. Click the Start node and choose Schedule.
  2. Pick how often from the Run list: every few minutes, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or Advanced for your own timing.
  3. Set your timezone. The builder shows the next few run times so you can check them.
  4. Under Hosted on, leave circuitry.dev, or pick your computer's Circuit to run it there instead.
  5. Press Deploy in the workflow toolbar. It runs from the next matching time onward.

Scheduled runs on circuitry.dev are at most once every 5 minutes. A schedule hosted on Circuit runs only while that computer is on and Circuit is running, and Circuit must be connected when you press Deploy. After you edit the workflow, press Deploy again for the change to take effect.

Run it when a request arrives

Any devicePaid plan

  1. Click the Start node and choose Webhook.
  2. Copy the URL shown in the panel.
  3. Press Deploy webhook in the same panel. The status changes to Live.
  4. Give that URL to the service that should start the run.

Listen for request captures the next request that arrives without running the workflow, so you can see its data first.
