Build an iPhone or iPad app with AI
An iPhone or iPad app is built on a Mac: you describe the app to a coding agent in Circuitry, and it writes and builds it in a project folder on that Mac. You can ask from the Mac itself, or from your iPhone or iPad with the Mac paired through Circuit.
On your Mac, in the desktop app
Desktop app
- Open the Circuitry desktop app on the Mac and choose File → New Project to pick a folder for the app.
- In the ask box, describe the app: what it shows and what each button does.
- Send it to a coding agent: one you already use, such as Claude Code or Codex, Gemini CLI, or Circuitry's AI.
The agent writes the app's files into the project and builds it with Apple's Xcode on the Mac.
From your iPhone or iPad, with your Mac
Phone or tabletYour computer (Circuit)Paid plan
- Pair your iPhone or iPad with Circuit on the Mac.
- Open a project, so the app's folder lives on the Mac.
- Describe the app in the ask box and send it to a coding agent.
The agent runs on the Mac and the build happens there; the iPhone or iPad is where you talk to it and watch it work. Closing the app or locking the phone doesn't stop it, and you can carry on from another device. When you're away from home, Home Circuit keeps the Mac reachable.
Try it on your iPhone or iPad
Your computer (Circuit)Same Wi-Fi
To run the app on your iPhone or iPad, the device and the Mac must be on the same Wi-Fi. Ask the agent to install the app on your iPhone or iPad. Installing is done from the Mac by Apple's tools, so the Mac does it whichever device you asked from. The first time, Apple asks for its own one-time setup on the Mac and on the device before it will install an app you built yourself; the agent walks you through it and checks the device can be reached.
Which AI to use
Building an app takes a capable model, such as ChatGPT, Claude or Google's Gemini, through Circuitry's AI or a subscription you already have. Apple Intelligence answers questions on the device but does not build apps.
Why it needs a Mac
Apple's tools for building iPhone and iPad apps run only on a Mac, so the build can't happen on the phone, in a web browser, or on a Windows or Linux computer. Your iPhone or iPad can still be the device you build it from.
