Choose and Add Models

Pick a model in the chat header. Add more with Set up AI.

Choose a model

Open the model picker in the chat header, or the chip in the Ask box, and pick one. It applies to that chat, and you can change it at any time. New chats open on the AI you used last.

Click the star on a row to make it a favourite. The list shows favourites first, then the models you use most. Settings → Models chooses which models appear at all.

Add a model

Choose Set up AI… in the Ask chip. In a chat, the model picker has Add an agent….

Which to choose

  • Getting started: Circuitry's models need no setup.
  • Writing code in your own project: a coding agent, or a strong model with Circuitry's agent.
  • Keeping your work on your own machines: local models, on this computer or another of yours.
  • Mixing them: make an agent team, with a strong model in charge and others doing the reading.

A model marked "chat only" can talk but cannot use tools, so it can't edit your documents.
