Questions
What is a hosted automation run?
It’s a workflow Circuitry runs for you in the cloud when something triggers it — another app calling a link (a “webhook”, e.g. a new order or form submission) or a schedule you set. These run in an isolated sandbox, a capacity-limited resource, so each plan includes a monthly allotment. Anything you run yourself in the editor or on your own Circuit never touches that allotment.
Are workflow runs in the editor really free?
Yes. Runs you trigger in the editor, or on a Circuit on your own machine, use your own compute and are unlimited and free. The only thing ever metered on those runs is cloud AI: if a run calls a Circuitry-hosted model, those tokens draw from your included credits.
How is AI usage billed?
Each cloud AI call spends credits based on the exact tokens it uses, drawn from your monthly allowance — heavier models cost more credits per call. Want to bring it to zero? Run your own local models (Ollama, LM Studio), or your own hardware via Circuit — you pay us for the platform, not for metered cloud tokens.
What if I run low on credits?
AI and hosted automation draw from one pool of monthly credits, so there’s only one balance to watch. We’ll email you as you approach it — no surprises. Top up any time: buy more credits or switch on auto top-up if you subscribe through Stripe, or grab a credit pack through the Apple App Store. Upgrading raises your monthly pool, and it refreshes at the start of each billing cycle.
How does Business team billing work?
Business is $149/mo and includes 3 seats; add more seats any time at $35/seat. Adding or removing seats is handled in your admin console. Cloud credits — covering both AI and hosted automation — are pooled across the whole company rather than locked to each seat. From the admin console you allocate a monthly allowance to each team member, adjust any member’s limit, or grant extra credits at any time — so a heavy user and a light user balance out and no single person can drain the pool. Team plans are billed on the web.
Is there a free plan?
Yes, and it comes two ways, no card needed. In the web: every editor, to design and sketch workflows, diagrams and more, with a small storage allowance. On your own machine: the desktop app is a free download — a full code IDE with your own projects, files, terminals and your own command-line coding agents. Free is for personal, non-commercial use — learning, studying and your own projects. It doesn’t include cloud AI or cloud automations: upgrade to Hobby ($9/mo) for cloud AI credits and workflows that run in the cloud, or to Personal and up for the full Circuitry Studio, which is also where you move once your work is paid for.
Can I use Circuitry for paid work?
Yes, on Personal ($20/mo) and above. Free and Hobby are licensed for personal, non-commercial use: learning, hobby projects and trying things out — including a project you hope will become a business one day. You need Personal or Pro from the point you are actually paid for work you make with Circuitry, or you start using it for a company or an employer. Being paid is the line, not what you intend to build, so there is nothing to work out in advance: start free, and move up when it earns.
Our company wants to use it — which plan?
If you are licensing Circuitry for someone who works for you, employee or contractor, that is Pro; for a team, Business licenses everyone by the seat with pooled company credits and an admin console. Each licence covers one person and can’t be shared. Two people can simply hold a licence each — Business becomes the better value from three, when the pooled credits, shared project folders and admin controls start to matter. Schools, universities and registered charities can use the free plans for teaching, study and charitable work.
Cloud automation, at a fraction of the going rate
Based on an AI analysis of published pricing across the major workflow-automation platforms, Circuitry runs hosted automations for far less per run — typically under $1 per 1,000 runs, drawn from your monthly credits. Runs in the editor or on your own server are always free.
And Circuitry is much more than a workflow-automation platform — the same subscription is a full studio for designs, documents, code, sheets, chats and more.
