Handwrite it. It becomes text you can edit.

The Write pen

Pick up the Write pen and write the way you normally write. In Auto OCR mode the words convert to editable text when you pause, in a typeface you pick from the capsule above the board. It reads print handwriting. On an iPad the pen starts in Auto OCR; elsewhere it starts in Type mode, where it drops a text cursor wherever you click.

Draw it roughly. A tidy one takes its place.

Shape recognition

Pick up the Shape implement and draw freehand — a circle, a rectangle, a triangle, a polygon — and a clean shape replaces your stroke as you lift the pen. It stays a real editable shape afterwards: double-click it and you get its anchor points to move, one by one. If you already know what you want, force the mode: Auto, Rect, Oval, Circle or Poly.

Sketch to diagram

  • Draw a shape and write a label inside it, and the two become one block that drags as a single object.
  • Draw a plain straight line between two labels and it becomes a connector — tidied straight, pinned to both ends, following them wherever you drag them.
  • Select a connector and you get a round handle at each end; drag one to re-anchor it to a different label.
  • Blocks group into bigger blocks, and ungrouping peels one level at a time, so the sub-groups you built on purpose stay intact.

Turn the sketch into a workflow that runs.

To Node

  • Select the sketch and press To Node: each handwritten label is read into text, each block becomes a real node, each connector becomes a real edge.
  • The node is typed from what you called it — write “remove background” and you get a Vision node already set to Remove Background.
  • A diagram of plain words — “Process”, “Step two” — stays as neutral blocks, because you were laying out a plan rather than building a workflow.
  • One undo brings the ink back exactly as you drew it.

The agent reads the board, not just a screenshot of it.

Because the board knows what its own contents are, the agent reads the shapes, the labels, the connectors and what you have selected — and how they relate to each other. It can draw on the board too, so you can point at things and answer each other in the same place.

Send the board as a link, or work on it together, live.

  • Share any board with a link — the people you send it to don’t need an account to view it.
  • Collaborate live: cursors, ink and edits appear as they happen.

Select a sketch and generate a finished image from it, right there on the board. Remove its background, trace it into clean vectors you can edit and scale, and hand the result to the coding agent to put into your project — without any of it leaving the studio.

A tray of real implements, each remembering its own ink.

Pen, pencil, ballpoint, marker, highlighter, a path pen for exact outlines, an arrow, an eraser and a lasso, in a tray that stays tucked under the board until you reach for it. Every implement keeps its own colour and size, so going back to the blue pen brings your blue back with it — and every one answers to a single letter under your left hand, so you change tools without putting the pen down.

Give the diagram a finished look.

The Style panel

  • Stroke and fill in a solid colour or a gradient, with their own opacity each.
  • Dashes, flat or round or square ends, sharp or round or bevelled corners — with dash lengths measured in multiples of the line’s own thickness, so a hairline and a heavy band both still read as dashed.
  • Arrowheads on either end of an open path, sized relative to the line they sit on.
  • Shadow, glow, blur, backdrop blur and 3D extrusion, each behind its own switch — then save the whole look as a preset and click it onto the next twelve objects.

Take the artwork off the board as vectors.

Select what you drew and File → Export Selection as SVG writes a scalable vector file cropped to just those objects. Shapes stay shapes, pen strokes keep their drawn outline, and the file opens in any design tool — so a diagram sketched here goes into a document or a deck at full size.

Built for a pen in your hand.

On an iPad the Apple Pencil draws and your finger navigates, so panning and pinch-zooming never leave a stray mark on the board. Pressure and speed shape the line the way they do on paper, and the Write pen starts in Auto OCR there, so a page of handwritten notes arrives as text.
